Lindzgrl's Reviews:

True crime at its juicy best

July 19, 2017 by Lindzgrl Leave a Comment

This is my first Ann Rule book, which is probably a somewhat scandalous confession for someone who considers herself a murderino. The truth is I hadn’t really read any true crime other than In Cold Blood before becoming a My Favorite Murder fan, I more just watched a lot of true crime shows and movies (The Betty Broderick story anyone!? Anyone? Fist bump? No? Okay.) I obviously would have preferred to start out with The Stranger Beside me, but that wasn’t available from my audiobook […]

Apocalypse literature at its best

July 19, 2017 by Lindzgrl Leave a Comment

I know it’s not fair to compare because Joe Hill has only written four novels whereas his father has written more than ninety (!!), but I dare say that Joe Hill might be the better author of the two. Although he certainly hasn’t written anything on the scope of The Stand or the Dark Tower series, so that might be a hasty judgment. Thus there’s a chance it’s a bit different than the printed version due to the fact it was all told in dialogue. However, I will definitely say if you can get your hands on the audio drama, grab it. The voice acting was great and had some decent talent behind it (including Haley Joel Osment and Stephen King). […]

Another great book by Liane Moriarty

May 22, 2017 by Lindzgrl Leave a Comment

It’s clear that the target reader for Liane Moriarty’s books is primarily female and, most likely, a parent and married woman. So I’m not sure why I gravitate to her books so much—I am female, but I am neither a parent nor married—but damn if I do love her stuff. When I start one of her books I am pulled in immediately and swept along the entire story. She does a fairly brilliant job of drawing up fun, interesting and complex characters, and keeping the […]
