Ever wonder how your life could’ve been different if you made different choices?

February 16, 2017 by kfishgirl 2 Comments

Ok, so my lovely little library in NEPA had this as an audiobook too!  That’s apparently my new thing for CBR9.  I will let other people read me books at times where it is unsafe for me to read them to myself (whilst driving, in the shower, treadmilling, etc.).  I use the Overdrive app on my phone, so my books travel with me always.  It’s rad.  I believe I’ve raved about it for earlier books (The Stand, which was 47 hours would’ve been unreadable for […]

My main complaint about this book is that it’s too short. At about 350 pages, it could easily have been twice as long and still remained fascinating. “Every moment, every breath, contains a choice. But life is imperfect. We make the wrong choices. So we end up living in a state of perpetual regret, and is there anything worse? I built something that could actually eradicate regret. This is an extremely solid brain-twist of a science fiction thriller. It’s confident and fast-paced, and I think I read it in about three hours. Jason is a physics professor at a small college in Chicago. He has a wife and a teenage son, and he loves his life. And then one night on his way home with […]

Just think, many of the universes this dude visits don’t have Trump as their president

December 29, 2016 by yesknopemaybe 3 Comments

There’s been so much buzz about Dark Matter in my bookish circles. I had no idea what it was about except that it had to do with parallel universes, but that was enough to sell me on it. The multiverse theory is so fascinating to me. I’m just a normal person in this universe so it’s comforting to think that somewhere out there I’m kicking ass as the president of the United States. And at least I’m doing better than the universe where I live […]
