I had such hopes for this one. I have a noted love of Craig Ferguson. I read and enjoyed his autobiography American On Purpose during my first Cannonball Read. Ferguson in this debut is a version of creepy but lovable, which is a combination that worked very well for me in his stint as host of The Late Late Show and works less well in this book. I’m still struggling to wrap my head around what I read and what the heck he was after, […]
H*cking finally
Lord save me from the overrated ramblings of mediocre white men. What possessed Craig Ferguson to write this? Did he just want to add “writer” to his list of credits? Was he thumbing his nose at the literary world just to see what they would publish? Had he somehow deluded himself into thinking this was good? CBR10Bingo: CannonBookClub (Or should I say CBR10BINGOBINGOBINGO, because that’s a triple for me!) AlabamaPink may be our warrior queen, but she must also have been a damn saint for all of the sins she overlooked in her review of this book. She was (obviously) a far better person than I, because I just couldn’t get past all of the awfulness to say anything constructive. The good: I stopped caring after page 21 when he makes a very distasteful joke about suicide, so I skimmed through […]
