This review is for the audiobook version of Magic Bites, by Ilona Andrews. I tried this one again, on Emmalita’s recommendation. I’d attempted it in the past, and just couldn’t get into it, but I’m glad I gave it another chance. Once I made it past the first hour, I was hooked! (I’ve even got book two waiting for me to finish this review) Kate Daniels is a magical mercenary, ready to help whoever will pay her, but when her estranged uncle is murdered, she […]
A Derek and Julie adventure!
This is a novella in the Kate Daniels universe. It’ll cost you less than two dollars on Amazon. I would, however, recommend that you read at least a few of the books in that series before reading this, although it would probably work relatively well on its own merits. This review may, however, contain spoilers for some of the later books in the series, so if you haven’t read up to and including Magic Breaks and preferably Magic Shifts as well, proceed at your own […]
You can take the Beast Lord out of the Citadel, but you can’t take the Lord out of the Beast.
First, I would like to thank the lovely Malin for making it possible for me to read Magic Shifts at this time. Yes, I could have waited until I had an extra $13 or until it was available at the library, but that would have been weeks. So thank you, Malin. Second, there will be spoilers for the previous books as well as little spoilers for this one. I don’t know how to write about the series without getting into spoilers. If you haven’t read […]
“Answer me this, did you hesitate at all or did you see the giant, go ‘Wheee!’ and run toward it?”
4.5 stars Spoiler warning! This is book 8 in the series, and some really big stuff happened in the last book. Seriously, if you haven’t read Magic Breaks yet, there will be spoilers, so return once you’re caught up. If you haven’t read any Ilona Andrews books yet, you should do your very best to change that as soon as possible. They write among the best paranormal books out there, you won’t be sorry. After a period of adjustment after the confrontation in the previous […]
