The Obsession Continues

January 16, 2018 by yesknopemaybe 2 Comments

You know a book is good when you immediately purchase the next one in the series. I had NO chill after reading A Study in Scarlet Women and found myself on Audible clicking the buy button just a few minutes later. Sherry Thomas is a genius y’all. Also, she seems to be pretty prolific which, let’s just say it’s a good thing because if I have to wait more than a year to read the next book, I might actually die of anticipation. A Conspiracy […]

This was the Sherlock Holmes reimagining I never knew I wanted and never thought I needed. There are so many adaptations in the last decade that it’s hard to keep track, but this one might be my favorite? Sherry Thomas took the originals and put the most marvelous spin on the characters and their situations. This book is something of a retelling of Sherlock Holmes, except that the famous detective is actually Charlotte Holmes. She helps to solve crimes using an old friend, Lord Ashburton, as an intermediary to bring information to and from Inspector Treadles. Full disclosure: I have never read the original Sherlock Holmes. It is on my Kindle because I found it for free […]

Sadly, another dud towards the end of the year

December 27, 2016 by Malin Leave a Comment

From Goodreads: When Evangeline Canterbury meets the gorgeous, intriguing doctor next door, all she wants from him is a bit of distraction, to help her get over a few rough days. Her one-night stand, however, has other plans: He needs an accomplished and presentable girlfriend to bring before his parents – and for six months of her time, he is willing and prepared to spend an obscene amount of money. Nothing but trouble can come of such an arrangement. But can Eva stop herself? Or […]
