Julie James is an author I always enjoy, but never rave about. I picked this one up on sale a while ago, and it probably would have languished on my TBR longer, but Ms. James was speaking at a local bookshop, so I wanted a fresh book in my mind. By the time I’m writing this review, it’s been a couple of weeks since I finished the book and I know why I never rave – the book was totally enjoyable AND completely forgettable. This […]
After a month away I have come back to be contrary
I know this book is the unpopular one in the Bridgerton series around these parts and I am here to vehemently disagree. I stand by my earlier assessment – I am […]
You want something different in a romance? Here you go!
This is not an easy romance. Both the hero and heroine are rather unlikeable, almost to the point where you don’t believe they deserve a happy ending. And yet, this book was really, really good. I’m easily persuadable. It’s a very light, contemporary M/M story. So light that I have very little to say about it, but I’ll give it a try since this is a pleasant story and I’m happy to recommend it. Henry Beckett is 35 and recently dumped by his long-term […]
