I read Chernow’s biography of Hamilton last year because, well, I can’t see the musical. Also, I majored in History as an undergrad and my favorite era is the American Revolution. Hamilton, the biogrpaphy, was excellent. It was the first major biography that read despite a good friend recommending Chernow a few years ago. Save your drafts as you go! I lost a really long double review for these books due to my own negligence. Ugh…. I moved to Monterey a year and a half ago, the home of Steinbeck and the setting for both of these novels. Both take place at real locations in the greater Monterey area, though Tortilla Flat is a fictional neighborhood, which added to my interest. I love Scalzi. He is fun and his books a fast reads that always leave me entertained. His audiobooks are frequently narrated by Will Wheaton and I enjoy his voice work. All in all, I am a fan and the Interdependency trilogy is a lot of fun and I really enjoy it. This is a new world for Scalzi.
