This book was SO MUCH FUN. I want to read it again.

February 25, 2017 by narfna 6 Comments

I started this book at lunch yesterday, got sixty pages in, and then read the rest of it in a frenzy as soon as I got home from work. I even forgot to eat dinner. Guys, I NEVER forget to eat dinner. I’m thinking about what I’m going to eat for dinner immediately after lunch is over. Sometimes lunch the day before. Sweet and Funny People Falling in Love. Was That So Much to Ask?

February 9, 2017 by Mrs. Julien 5 Comments

The Weight of It All was one of those quietly enjoyable reads that are hard to review. It was wonderfully simple and just plain nice. In this contemporary romance set in Sydney Australia, two sweet people fall in love in a funny and engaging romance short on drama and long on kindness. Freshly dumped and taking his ex’s parting salvo of “old and fat” to heart, Henry Beckett and picks himself up and ventures to the local gym to see what he can do about […]

Max Ashford’s career in the NHL was cut short when a checking accident on the ice left him with compromised peripheral vision. Working on a career behind the bench, he joins head coach Misha Samarin with the Spartanburg Spitfires in South Carolina. It’s an ECHL team – meaning a double A hockey franchise that acts as a feeder to the minors and, with any luck […]

Not Your Usual Historical Romance

January 8, 2017 by Mikki Blu 6 Comments

This is a debut novel by the author, but it reads like one by a more seasoned writer. It’s a historical romance, however, this one explores the gay romance side of things.   I haven’t read much M/M romance, much less based in the Regency era, so I was interested to see how this would play out.  In that time period, gay sex was a well kept secret since the act was construed as sodomy and could be punishable by exile, prison or death.  You […]
