Murderbot <3. I feel like just making that one word and its accompanying symbol my entire review, but that would be doing a disservice to the book and also to anyone potentially reading this review who has not yet let Murderbot into their lives. Murderbot is life. Murderbot is love. Just kidding. If Murderbot saw me talking about Murderbot like this, Murderbot would be appalled. Murderbot is all about not dealing with feelings at all costs. I read and enjoyed Robin Sloan’s debut novel, Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore, when it first came out a couple of years ago. Lots of insight and drama. Lots of gross stories about Gene […]

Project: Catch Up On Review Backlog, review #3 out of 11 So this review has actually been stalling me for a month now, for no particular reason. Maybe I felt pressured to live up to all the cute hedgehog gifs I’ve included below with my words. Or maybe it’s because I’ve since found (thanks to the CBR Facebook group) that Lucy Parker reads Cannonball Read sometimes (!!). No pressure, y’all. Sometimes when I write reviews I pretend authors don’t exist, for just this reason. Oh, […]
