“14” What a great fun book! Couldn’t put it down
Our hero, Nate is a slacker SoCal loser dude. Down on his luck, no girlfriend, needs new apartment and – Bam! – he stumbles into the best deal ever on a cool vintage apartment in downtown LA. The Kavach Building.
Ok – so, sure there are some rules, strange rules, kind of an odd super…but whatever right? It’s cheap, it’s nice, the power is free! the neighbors are nice.
Oh, wait – what’s that? Mysterious Apartment 14? Don’t even think of going in there? Or the room with the really cold wall? Wait, what? And where does all that free power come from anyway – and what IS in the basement?
So of course he meets a cute girl, gets nosy and things happen. “oh look, a mysterious light in the abandoned ice house, lets go check it out”.
Holy Nicola Tesla, H.P. Lovecraft and Scooby Doo! With a side order of Steampunk thrown in!
Why tell you more, just get the damn book and read it. With the lights on !
