Alpha & Omega (Locke & Key Vol. 6)

March 23, 2014 by Vylotte Leave a Comment

51bGyC2MrFL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_The series has finally come to a close, and what started out as a creepy homage to Lovecraft and the unsettling horror of old came home a fully fleshed, chilling look at the patience of evil.

After all the deep world building of the first trades, this final installment felt rushed, the chase scenes felt drawn out to fit into the cliche of ending a nice cerebral ride with a chase, but that is my only complaint. I felt the ending was satisfying, suspenseful and logical, though I would have definitely traded a few pages of shadow fighting for some deeper insights into the creation of the final key.

I now need to go back and read the full series from the start, the beginnings are hazy and this story deserves the full immersion and concentration that is missing when it’s spaced out over years.
