I agree. This book was absolutely gut-wrenching to read, but oh so beautifully written. It made me ugly-cry towards the end. I felt so bad for so many of the characters, who just couldn’t really help themselves. Absolutely NOT a feel-good read.

I loved this book when I read it last year but have not suggested it to any of my non-CBR friends. Its so beautifully written but as you say, such a gut wrenching read.
