So endeth these Star Wars.

I apologize in advance for this review.

Not only did I forget that I read this, and hence forget to rate it on Goodreads for almost two months, I read it so long ago I barely remember anything I wanted to say about it AND ALSO I didn’t take any notes.

Here’s what I remember:

This was my least favorite of the three adaptations. Of course, when I say ‘least favorite’ that doesn’t actually mean much in this context, because this was still completely delightful.

Doescher continues to cheekily take iconic Star Wars moments and render them with loving detail into the form of Shakespeare’s renaissance drama, complete with common dramatic techniques of the day and allusions to Shakespeare’s works.

His writing also continues to be well shy of Shakespeare’s, which is only a tad bit disappointing. This is to be expected though, as Shakespeare was a genius wordsmith and who can live up to that?

The artwork is still gorgeous, although there wasn’t any particularly iconic image this time around like there was with Luke and Vader fighting in Bespin.

I would pay good money to see a version of any of these three live. Also, it would be super fun to actually be the person in charge of bringing this to the stage. I wish I knew more about theater, and also, that I had money to try. It’s that fun.
