OK, I hate to admit it, but I’m so over mediocre books. Life is too short for that mess, and unfortunately I have been making too many of them lately. With this set of five, one gave me hope (Sandman Slim), then let me down (Kill the Dead), one I couldn’t finish (Becoming Odyssa), one I enjoyed (Rogues) and one I fell in love with (The Slow Regard of Silent Things). I have no clue what I am going to read next, but I wish I had a sure proof way to pick a winner…

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is sitting on my book stack. Admittedly when it showed up my first thought was, “Damn this is one small book.” My second thought was, “Exactly how much did I pay for this tiny book here?” And what follows next is a series of grumpy grumbles that don’t bear repeating.
That being said that I do love Rothfuss an hope that like you, I’ll fall in love with it too. Good things in small packages, right?
