LOVED this book! He has such a great descriptive style – it is, very much, a love letter to Barcelona. The book definitely stays with you for awhile after finishing it. Are you thinking of reading the second one in the series?
I’ve added it to my to read list. I had decided to do so based on your review before I realized that it also qualifies for my book translated from another language task as part of Book Riots Read Harder challenge.
Interesting. I read another book (The Prince of Mist) by Mr. Zafon a couple of years ago and was not super impressed, but I may have to give him another go!

Yes, definitely. His language is colorful without being flowery or needlessly complex, I agree.

Thanks! I hope you enjoy it.

I’d be interested to hear about it-perhaps he needed a few more books to smooth out his style?
