So a Cyclops and a Satyr Walk Into a Cave…

February 6, 2015 by ModernLove 2 Comments

This was a book I finished a couple weeks ago, and when I sat down to finally write the review…I couldn’t remember anything that happened in the book! It took me trying to remember the ending, and then working backwards to piece together the rest of the story. Now, this could be my head cold of doom talking, but I think it just means the book wasn’t that memorable. It wasn’t bad, but any means, just not something that stuck with me.

I am so glad that you wrote this review because I read ALL of the Percy Jackson books in 1.5 weeks after New Years and I can’t write a review for any of them because a) they all now blend together and b) while I completely enjoyed them while reading I can only vaguely remember plot points!!

What gives? Are the pages soaked in the Lethe?

They might be! I’m glad I’m pacing myself with these or else I’d be in the same boat. That’s a big problem with these types of books. They’re meant to follow the same formula, but if you don’t do a good job of really giving each defining characteristics, they just blend together. They’re not bad books, per say, just…very blendable.
