The Literary Equivalent of a Smile

March 23, 2015 by ModernLove 11 Comments

I loved this book. Go buy it and read it now.

That’s enough a review, right? No? Okay, fine. I’ll write some more.

I was so excited when I found out we were getting more Tiny Cooper. This is such a joy of a character and I could read another five or six books staring him. If you haven’t yet read Will Grayson, Will Grayson, where we first meet Tiny, I will highly recommend that to you, as well. It’s a Levithan/John Green joint, and really well done. But anyway, this review is not about Will. This is all about Tiny.

I JUST GOT THIS FROM THE LIBRARY. I am so excited I can’t even stand it. I love Tiny Cooper so hard. So glad you enjoyed it. I’ll have to let you know what I think when I can get to it!

Please do!! It was such a delight of a book; I was reading it and I think I drove my friend crazy with the amount of quotes I was messaging her as I read it. It’s just so repeat-able!

I’m saving this for my Easter vacation, when the husband and I are going to Budapest. I want to read funny, uplifting and escapist books then and this sounds absolutely perfect. Tiny Cooper is one of my favourite literary finds of the last few years, he’s so amazing. I wish he were real and could be my friend.

Malin – Enjoy Budapest! Mr. Star and I went there a couple years ago & it was a blast. Don’t overload on books though because you’ll only read on the plane :) The city is so old and beautiful, there is a lot to take in!

I’m sorry, but I’m too dead inside for this kind of joy shenanigan.

This book will give you life, I promise. (That and ice cream from that place. You know the one. I want to go there.)

I don’t know. I’m skeptical. (Another idea for our Nerdist date!)

Ice cream and Chris Hardwick? You know the ways to my heart.

I could definitely use a smile, and while I haven’t read Will Grayson, Will Grayson – your review has sold me. To the buy-hole!

I hope you enjoy it! And then go read Will Grayson, Will Grayson and enjoy that, too, because it’s also an excellent book.
