Mrs. Bradley Mysteries

The only thing I really knew about Mrs. Bradley was that Diana Rigg played her on the television series. So I was surprised when she was described in the book as an ugly old hag! But I just kept picturing Diana Rigg when I was reading the story.

A young girl has died at the convent of the Sisters of St. Peter. But was it an accident, suicide, or murder? Mrs. Bradley doesn’t get as much help as she would like from the nuns, but the girls at the convent school are full of information. Most people there don’t think Ursula would have killed herself, because Catholics think that’s one of the worst things you could ever do.

But who would have murdered a young girl? Did anyone stand to gain from her death? Surprisingly, there are a few people who might have wanted Ursula out of the way. There is an interesting cast of characters at the convent, and perhaps some are more dangerous than others. Mrs. Bradley figures it out (don’t I say that at the end of every review of a mystery story?!) and manages to save another life or two in the bargain.
