I’m 80% through with A Notorious Countess Confesses and it’s a perfect reprieve from holiday stress and the persistent rain that’s been harshing our Christmas buzz. Eve was a courtesan, and is now a widowed Countess who moves to Pennyroyal Green. The local Vicar, Adam, is a self-contained man of such striking appearance that all of the local women fairly swoon when he appears. They have good smolder and the supporting cast of meddling townsfolk are fun. Thoroughly enjoyable.
I haven’t cracked Uprooted because I’m saving it. Like the last chocolate in the box. To savor.
