Ok, so when I was searching for this book on Amazon to add in the link and the picture, I found something a little creepy. This author has a cute / slightly haunted / lost looking girl on all of her book covers:
I immediately thought “did I put in the wrong book title?”, or “does this book have alternate titles?”. I obviously haven’t read any of the other books, but now I might! I don’t know what that says about me?
This was another audiobook I borrowed from the library. Thank the gods for my library, or my CBR would be torture (reading random books I find laying around for free) or super expensive (having to buy every book I read).
Like my title says, I didn’t realize this was a ghost story when I first started. I guess it’s not a far cry for murder mysteries to turn into ghost stories, since the murder victim immediately qualifies for ghost status.
So this book is told from 3 points of view, that super quickly turns into 2 points of view. Spoiler, the person whose 3rd point of view disappears doesn’t get murdered. It just kinda gets dropped. I’m not entirely sure why, because the character still exists throughout the book.
We meet Kate, and we learn about her when she was young, and in the present. There are a few murders in the story, and one ghost. It’s mostly about trying to right a wrong from the past, and what family and friendship mean to people. I liked it.
Haha — I own all of those books except Dismantled, and I’ve never even noticed that about the covers. I definitely recommend reading more of her books if you liked this one. None of them are spectacular or anything, but they’re usually pretty solid little stories.
