I have never listened to a podcast in my life, mostly because that would cut into my audiobook time (unacceptable!). But I’m familiar with Marc Maron, and his brand of brutally honest humor. He and his guests get together once a week and just…talk. About anything. He has a knack for getting celebrities to open up. And this book is a collection of those tellings.
He breaks each chapter into a sort of life lesson, writes a bit about himself, and then includes celebrity quotes regarding the same issues. He tackles some pretty serious subjects: sexual abuse, addiction, sorrow. But it’s infused with humor and makes for an excellent read. It probably should be enjoyed slowly, chapter by chapter, but I basically devoured it. If you’re a dork like me who likes reading books of quotations, you should definitely try this one.
