Injustice is an awesome fighting video game made by the people who make Mortal Kombat. The game is fun and popular. It’s so popular, in fact, that you can watch Injustice tournaments on cable tv. (I do.) This book series seems to provide some more stories within the world of the game. I think. The story within the game is pretty cool, too. 
In Injustice, Joker decides to show up in Metropolis. He becomes the butterfly flapping its wings. The little bit of wind he generates ends up starting a chain of events that is epic and awful in scale and impact. It’s kind of like DC’s Civil War in that you have heroes lined up on two sides of an issue.
I’m not a fan of heroes fighting one another. There’s plenty of bad stuff going on in the world and I don’t really care to see my superfriends duking it out. That being said, the story is intriguing and Tom Taylor does a great job of exploring the dynamics between the characters. Batman and Superman disagreeing isn’t new in DC, but the humanity behind the way they do in this book is great. You see their respect and friendship in deep ways, so much so that Alfred the butler can land a devastating line on Superman because of the deep intimacy he has by proxy.
Weirdly, the short interactions between Harley Quinn and Green Arrow were my favorite part of this book. This is an ongoing series, so I’m not sure if that is kept up or not, but I would definitely read an Arrow/Harley series if it was written like this.
This book isn’t my cup of tea, but I think its pretty good. It’s also a long series if that’s your thing.
