These kids are much tougher than I ever would be

May 10, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

Any time I see a trailer for a movie that is also a book, I usually rush out and read the book.  I saw the trailer for this movie, and I knew I was headed to the library.

They gist of these books (there are three, so you know I’ll be reading all three!) is that all children in the world either die of a brain disease (horribly), or they have unusual powers.

The change usually comes around age ten for all of the children.  Oh, the brain disease kids that die are the vast majority, like 99% or something like that.  So basically, all of the parents in the world are either scared their kids are going to die, or scared that their kids are going to develop powers.

Of course some of the powers are scary, and some of them are not so scary.  They’re all super interesting though.

Here’s the trailer:

So let me just break down the colors that the kids are categorized into:

Red kids can produce and direct fire

Orange kids can read each other’s minds, and some of them can push thoughts into other’s minds

Yellow kids are good with electricity

Green kids are good at math and computers (I think, nobody seems to care much about the Greens)

Blue kids can move stuff and people around

Aaaaanyway….

I really liked this book.  There are a few main characters in this book, and they’re all cool little kids.  I say little, because everyone is under 18.  Anyway, I don’t want to ruin the book, because everything is kind of a spoiler.  Please read this series, I liked it a lot.  I’m working through book two, and I’m still enjoy it all!

I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too! View kfishgirl's reviews»
