She’s Back!

KATIE: Y’all. Kristen Ashley has finally managed to surprise me. In WILD LIKE THE WIND, she has created a book that begins with a bit of history relevant to the Chaos Motorcycle Club, LOTS of sex, and an attempt at redeeming a previously unlikable character so he can be the hero of this story.

PATTY: YAY! SHE’S BACK! We have missed her so.

KATIE: You could say this one starts off with a BANG.

NOT THAT KIND OF A BANG. Duh.

This kind. And many more just like it.

Y’all, this book ain’t nothing but sex interspersed with the care of an 89-year-old neighbor lady. And when I say care, I mean everything down to helping her pee and bathe. All of this done by the Chaos Motorcycle Club enforcer.

PATTY: Katie, geez, don’t you get it? He’s an Alpha Bad-ass with a heart of gold. He has a single redeeming quality which makes him ripe for the romantic picking. That and seemingly endless stamina. Seriously, y’all: the sex is ridiculous. It eventually got boring and I did some major skimming whenever I registered the words “cock”, “hard” or “come here”. I was like, “AGAIN?! DON’T Y’ALL EVER JUST WATCH SOME TV OR HAVE LAUNDRY TO DO?!”

KATIE: There is a phrase I despise that I see used a good bit in Alpha-hole books: “she fell on my dick.” Well, I’m lifting my personal ban of that statement for this book only because that literally happened. MANY TIMES.

PATTY: I happen to know from personal experience that literally falling on someone’s dick is not well received.

KATIE: Seriously, y’all. If we took the sex scenes out of this book, it would be about 70% shorter. I’m not even kidding.

PATTY: And in the remaining 30% we would learn all about how this dude has been in love with this chick for 18 years but because she’s the widow of a biker brother, she’s off-limits because BIKER CODE and so *yearning* until she decides to move on with her life with said biker dude. Guilt and Clandestine Encounters follow.

KATIE: I don’t get it. I mean, the guy is dead. Why can’t his widow move on with one of his biker brothers if she chooses? It’s okay with anyone else, but not a brother? I’d understand that better if it was about a divorced couple.

Seriously though, I believe this book is 100% pure Ashley. No ghostwriter involved. Only she could write something this long and grunt-y. Patty?

PATTY: I love me some crazy Ashley. Girlfriend has no limits.

KATIE: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but thank God for her. This is the first book in months I’ve felt the need to write about.

PATTY: Srsly. All hail Ashley. I TOLD you it would eventually pay off!
