Bad-to-the-bone

Bad Guys in Intergalactic Gas is the fifth book in the Bad Guys series. And the first one I read. And of course, it is about…. farts.

Okay, I was a 10-year-old-boy in a former life (I have proof as four years ago, my then 10-year-old nephew and I were both laughing over a “doo-doo” joke….). Aaron Blabey must be a 10-year-old boy, as he speaks their language. Well, the langue of 7 to 10-year-olds as this is aimed at them. The humor is basic and big time “bathroom humor” (even when it is not “bathroom-bathroom” humor, you know what I mean).

You should read the series in order but as an adult reader you can pick up the theme anyplace, it is not too hard to fill in the blanks. The stories are basic: the stereotypical “bad guys” want to be good guys, but nobody trusts them (then again, I would not trust a 37-burrito eating piranha either). With the help of a secret organization of “good guys” they help save the world from a really nasty Hamster.

Never said things would be logical. After all, how many spiders do you know who can fly a “borrowed” space ship?

Blabey’s signature style of illustrations take up most of the page. It is therefore, not a “graphic novel” in the traditional sense but does have that feel to it.

There are currently seven books out in the series, an eighth coming late December 2018/early January 2019 and a ninth mid-June 2019. (The link is to the first five of the series).
