If you were waiting to read the first one, go ahead, because this is a good ending. #CBRBingo

I was on a definite book high when I finished this.

I believe I used the word “ensorcelled” when I talked about what it was like to read the first book in this duology, Strange the Dreamer. I wasn’t quite ensorcelled here, but that’s only because I was so damn stressed out! And I knew that was going to happen. I almost didn’t give the last book five stars because the ending of it stressed me out so much, and I knew if it went one way and not the other, it would ruin the entire book for me. I tentatively gave it five stars because I was hopeful that Laini Taylor had a plan, and my hope was rewarded. She did have a plan, and it all worked out very well in a way that will let me in future reads enjoy the experience much more, stress free.

I don’t want to say much more about this book, or the first book, because I still think you should go in blind. Just know that I find the whole thing magical and enthralling, and it feels unique and exciting and scary, and yet you can come out of it without having developed several new grey hairs.

CBR Bingo: Dream Vacation (Review a book set in a place or time you would like to visit.) (I don’t know if I would *actually* want to visit here, but she makes it sound so beautiful, and there was no other book I was reading within the Bingo time-frame that really qualified for this category, so I guess I’d just visit and take my chances with sudden and painful death.)
