A lovely package arrived on my doorstep last Tuesday and I wanted to tear it open right away. However, as a community college professor halfway through finals week with a pile of portfolios and final projects to respond to and with a bad case of “Is it break yet?” procrastination looming, I decided to use the gift from Yesknopemaybe as motivation. It worked! I got the grades in and was delighted to discover that Yesknopemaybe had sent me two books I really wanted to read. I squealed when I saw Spinning Silver and I have heard really good things about She Rides Shotgun.
Though I still have one class’s grades to finish (they’re due tomorrow at noon), the start of break is in sight and visions of sipping cocoa (or something stronger) and digging into these books are dancing in my head (suck it, sugar plums!).
