More Gideon and Sirius

December 29, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is the fourth book in the Gideon and Sirius series.  I believe I’ve read all four of them in this current Cannonball.  After reading to the end, the author said he’s got at least two more books in the works.  Hopefully I’ll get to read and review them for CBR11!

In this book, Gideon ends up working about three cases at once.  They all kind of sneak up on him while he’s going about his life.  He’s volunteering at Angie’s Rescue (or Heather’s Rescue, I can’t remember).  The woman he saved in one of the previous books (Heather) opened up a dog rescue, and Gideon and Sirius volunteer there a few hours during the week.  Angie is Heather’s dog, and I can’t remember which one of them the rescue is named after.  Gideon meets a rescued pit bull named Emily who was used as a bait dog for dog fighting.  She was left for dead with tons of injuries.  Gideon decides to figure out who did that to her, and nail the bastard  I appreciate it.

He also gets involved with finding out what happened to a woman’s fiance who is presumed dead.  He has to migrate through undocumented workers and their hiring gringos to figure out what happened.

The third case is related to The Weatherman, the serial killer who he and Sirius helped capture and almost died with.  Gideon begrudgingly (as a request from the FBI) gets the locked up serial killer to consult on a new serial killer case.

Again, I love the characters, and any book whose main character is a dog is going to be a winner for me!

I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too! View kfishgirl's reviews»
