About CimbrielShine

Hello! My name is Kimberly. My screen name (here and at the 'Jiba) is CimbrielShine. Cimbriel is pronounced in the High Elvish manner - with a hard C (and suffix -iel meaning "star of"). I've been on Pajiba for several years, so familiar with the Cannonballers, and even though I usually read at least 26 books per year, I haven't considered actually participating until this year. I'm late in the year to join and while I have ready about 20 books already I'm really seeing the wisdom in the recommendations to write your reviews asap, but this is one reason I decided to do this. I read exclusively on Kindle, and I've seen reports saying we don't retain things we've read on e-devices very well and I've noticed that's very true for me! So, I want to take the time to think about what I've read such that it sticks with me better. This year I'm focusing my selections on books by People of Color, with a particular emphasis on reading women authors. I have read a couple of books by white dudes (new Expanse and Oathbringer books out this year) and the new Kate Atkinson came out so I'm reading that one as I start this project.

They can share the Power with older women, who can then wield it as well. That sounds particularly appealing with everything happening in the world right now. But I don’t like the Frame […]
