The first time I read The Princess Bride was in 2010 as an ebook on a small 1st generation smartphone during my down time at work. I had grown up with the movie, and as with most people, could quote it in its entirety. This remains one of the few instances where I truly, honestly love both the book and the movie equally as separate entities and as complementary enhancers of each other. I can’t wait to re-read this favorite of mine. But instead of small […]
Wonderful Book Goodies from Joemyjoe
A big thank you to Joemyjoe (with the assist from scootsa1000) for the CBR Book Exchange goodies! I’ve always loved how obsessively-detailed Patton Oswalt can become with his take on pop-culture, so when I saw this in a bookstore once, I knew immediately that I wanted to read it. And “21” is the only book in Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey/Maturin series that I did not own. Thank you for completing my collection! I can’t wait to read both of them!

The Time Machine, by H.G. Wells, was published 121 years ago in 1895. And yet, ingress77 and I somehow managed to completely coincidentally read it the exact same time. I only mention this, because 1) I found this amusing, and 2) to get in front of any juicy Cannonball scandal. I specifically did not read the other review, so any similarities are purely due to ingress77 traveling forward in time by a few weeks and plagiarizing my review (in what was really one of the […]
