This book fits into my Underrepresented bingo slot. Rivers Solomon is a black woman writing in sci-fi. I wanted so much to like this book, I really did, but I bounced hard off of it and struggled to finish. Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
This book fills the Brain Candy square on my bingo card. That’s not to say it isn’t a great read, cause it really is, but I read Moriarty’s books when I want something good but also light and not depressing. Like a really good pastry for the brain.
