Polyesque is many things. A polyamorous, panromantic writer, singer, burlesque dancer, actress, and activist. Ze is the former Artistic/Programming Director for Jeff Mach Events, which produces Wicked Faire, the Steampunk World's Faire, the Geeky Kink Events, and co-produces Dark Side of the Con in conjunction with Vampire Freaks. As Femme Fae la Butche, ze co-founded the White Elephant Burlesque Society in 2006 with Viktor Devonne and co-directed it with him for six years. As zerself, ze directed the premiere of Jeff Mach's play "Seeds" in 2011. Zir YA short stories have been commissioned and published in an online magazine, and zir first published erotica short story can be found in the first annual Geeky Kink Anthology by Riverdale Ave Books. Aside from writing, ze has an abiding affection for learning, leather, tea, reading, snow, driving, laughter, fountain pens, cuddling, chocolate, musicals, hiking, Harry Potter, rose flogging, knives, kayaking, sensation play, candles, and long, intimate conversations about sex, poly, kink, and gender. Polyesque lives in New Jersey with her nesting partner and two kitties and has previously lived as part of an intentional polycule down South. (Yes, really). Ze is currently reorganizing her life and is looking forward to CB10 as a way to read and write more and hopefully connect with more readers and writers.

Polyesque's Reviews:

Adventures of a Mormon looking for love in Manhattan

January 17, 2018 by Polyesque 2 Comments

When I first saw this book in Borders, I was intrigued by the cover and when I read about a Mormon gal on her own in the Big Apple, I was even further intrigued. Given that I just name-dropped Borders, that’ll give you an idea of how long ago it was that I picked it up. Pretty sure it was around 2010. But something made me keep it through a move from New Jersey to Mississippi, then back to New Jersey. Then to Memphis. Then […]

I wish I could go back to college…

Last year, I signed up for Cannonball Read 9. Unlike 2013, where I completed my first (and only, thus far) FULL Cannonball of reading AND reviewing 52 books in one year, last year I was a bit more pragmatic. I went for a quarter Cannonball, or 13 books. Unfortunately, last year turned out to be not so much a “reading year” for me as it was more a “I’m slowly going to get more and more upset with my previous job year and struggle to […]

Two Great Tastes That Taste Great Together…

September 12, 2016 by Polyesque 2 Comments

Warning: This book and review deal with power dynamics being carried out in real life adults that some might not be comfortable with, and may also contain some triggering words that have a very different meaning in the kink scene. Please note that everyone involved has agreed to be so; this book is about consensual power dynamics and conscious relationship style choices, not coercion. As the author states in the synopsis on the back of the book: “Power Circuits is an alliance between two alternative […]

The closest thing I have to a Bible.

July 1, 2016 by Polyesque Leave a Comment

About 15 years or so ago, way back when I was in college, my theater profession assigned us The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman to read. I remember liking it a lot and when I later found myself in the local used bookshop, I looked around for other books by the author. The store has a copy of The Laws of Spirit: A Tale of Transformation. It was only about six dollars so I decided to get it. Coming in at just 110 […]
