Holy hell–you guys are so good at recommending books!

December 28, 2015 by badkittyuno 3 Comments

Well, consider me a Golden Boy pusher — this book was incredible, and I’ve already lent my copy away (read: forced it on my little sister). So, so good. “It takes strength to be proud of yourself and to accept yourself when you know that you have something out of the ordinary about you.” Max Walker has always been a good kid — good-looking, athletic, well-behaved. Golden Boy is the story of Max. Max is a 16 year-old boy. He’s handsome and friendly, wealthy and popular, he’s the captain of the football team, and he’s super smart. He’s the […]

Golden Boy

April 14, 2014 by Willynillyone 6 Comments

I’ve been recommending Golden Boy to everyone lately but I’ve had a tough time coming up with a review that can do justice to the book. Here goes…. Golden Boy is about Max, an intersex teenager in present day England. When Max is taken advantage of by a childhood friend, he begins to question who he is and what intersexuality actually means for him. In addition, his parents, both trying to do the best for Max, weigh in with opposing opinions. There’s also Max’s love […]
