This is a take-off of the Buffy Summers story during the TV series, but forgets there was movie (as many fans do). A popular thriller worth your time
I couldn’t remember where I’d seen this book recommended and that made me I think understandably cautious. The general summary—it’s about the daughter of a female serial killer and her life after turning in her own mother—made me more cautious. But I gave it a go because ebooks from the library have made me much more freewheeling in my reading choices. And you know what, I’m glad I did. Alice hated being interesting. (a couple of times throughout the book but p. 287 is where I recorded it.) I didn’t love it. I didn’t hate it. I’ll probably seek out the follow-up books, but I already know that the thing I think needs to happen–Alice becoming the Queen of Hearts–won’t.
