Knisley is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors
3.5 stars. This is my third Knisley graphic memoir (and I have Something New and French Milk on my nightstand). An Age of License was perfectly enjoyable, but after the surprise and delight of Relish and near perfection of Displacement, it pales a bit in comparison. I first heard of Displacement (2015) by Lucy Knisley from another Cannonball review. Knisley is a twenty-something writer who volunteers to chaperone her aging grandparents when they unexpectedly sign up for a cruise. Her best travelogue yet.
This light but still quietly devastating little travelogue might be the best thing Lucy Knisley has ever written. (Drawn? Created? Mixed media confuses word choice.)
