I read Chernow’s biography of Hamilton last year because, well, I can’t see the musical. Also, I majored in History as an undergrad and my favorite era is the American Revolution. Three Revolutionary War romances.
This book is actually three novellas, all written under the umbrella premise of Eliza Hamilton collecting stories about her husband, Alexander, in service of recording his legacy. I enjoyed all three of the novellas, but I definitely enjoyed Courtney Milan’s the most (not really surprised there). When I bought tickets to Hamilton last October, I immediately put myself on Hamilton hiatus. Although I was late to the Hamilton party, I think I’ve made up for it with my wealth of enthusiasm since joining the festivities. Things began with the cast recording, and from there I’ve moved onto the documentary (which I signed up for the $5/mo.
