A political system that might just make more sense then North America’s

Book: Three Dark Crowns, Book 1 of Three Dark Crowns Series Medium: Book Dates Read: Jan 1-3, 2018 Overall Review (out of 5): 4 light-hearted fluff points out of 5   There isn’t a better way to start off a reading year than with some good old YA.  At least that’s what I find, as it’s always best to progress to more serious reading material as the year goes on then start there.  YA keeps you reading in the meantime. My 4/5 rating is not that this […]

3.5 stars. I can’t fully bump this up to 4 stars despite the interesting premise and great ending. There’s too much set up here to really consider this one as having a full narrative arc. However, it’s a very promising start to a series and I’d really recommend it if you’re looking for darker young adult fantasy. Three Dark Crowns takes place in a world where every generation has a set up triplets born to the queen. These triplets are claimed by different factions and […]

What if Sam Winchester didn’t have a brother?

November 9, 2014 by Malin 2 Comments

This review contains minor spoilers for the book. Nothing big, but if you like to approach a book completely blank, you may want to skip this.  Like his father before him, Cas Lowood travels around the country and lays restless and malevolent ghosts to rest. He and his Wiccan mother rarely stay in one place for too long, and Cas makes very sure not to get too attached to any of the locals, as he’s just going to pack up and leave as soon as […]
