Cannonball! – I crushed my goal with Ms. Marvel

December 12, 2018 by Dome'Loki 4 Comments

Earlier this year I accidentally read the fourth Ms. Marvel graphic novel before the third, Ms.Marvel: Crushed.  Instead of immediately going back and reading number three I went on to read other things.  When I was ready to pick it up, I couldn’t find it, the house seemed to have eaten it.  About two weeks ago it resurfaced and I decided to save it to complete my cannonball.  Sosuke is not as thrilled as I am, since his nap was disturbed to take this photo. More Human Than Human

I’ve been on a late oughts X-Force kick, lately. That run has been my comic book introduction to X-23, aka Laura. (If you’ve seen the movie Logan, Laura is the lil’ Wolverine. That was my first encounter with the character.) The Laura character is terrifying and hilarious in X-Force. I walked in to one this winter, and all packaged up just like they knew I was coming, there were the six issues in the limited run World of Wakanda comic series. It hit all the right buttons: Black Panther, so hot right now! Roxane Gay and Yona Harvey, interesting feminist thinker and poet, first two black […]

Lunella! No!

November 30, 2017 by emmalita Leave a Comment

My comic book reading is pretty scattershot. I have read zero of the Secret War series. I heard about it when Captain America was revealed to be a Hydra agent. I have no idea what’s going on in the main series. I did stumble across Secret Warriors, and thought I’d read it since it has a couple of my favorites, Ms. Marvel and Lunella and Devil Dinosaur. Joining them are other Inhumans – Daisy, also known as Quake, Inferno, and Karnak. Secret Empire bounces around in […]
