Police, Adjective

December 5, 2018 by Jake Leave a Comment

My word, this feels like the police procedural to end all. For reasons I can and cannot spoil. I’m not a big fan of police procedurals. I prefer private eyes or unlikely detectives in the mold of Hitchcock. In real life, detective work doesn’t get solved by a Sherlock Holmes-type using inductive reasoning until the killer is revealed by sheer cleverness. Tonight’s Show, We Have…

I’ve had a hankering to read quality Los Angeles mystery tales. It’s tough to find ones that don’t treat the city like either a playground for the rich and famous or a hell for never was-es to slum in. I don’t know much about LA but I’ve always been fascinated by it. […]

More Dead Girls

One of my favorite authors is Dennis Lehane. He’s a hard author for many because he goes so deep into the violent and depraved nature of people that most of us are blissfully unaware of. He shines a spotlight on the real boogeymen of the world and we can close the book when we’re done and say, “I’m glad this was just a book” and can go back to our normal lives.  I feel like Eric Rickstad is a similar author with similar subject […]
