Jasper Fforde hasn’t released a new book since 2014, and that is a long time for him. I have been waiting and waiting (so patiently) for the third Nursery Crime book, but it just doesn’t seem to be happening. Neither does the second Shades of Grey book. But now there is this book, which is not actually out in the US until 2019, so I bought it from Book Depository. I’m glad I did this anyway because the UK cover is so much better than the […]
Even though someone else said it better
I saw a Goodreads description or review that called Cantero the heir to the Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams throne. Nope to that. The more I think on it, the more I like This Body’s Not Big Enough For Both Of Us, but it’s not the same level of clever, especially since it’s much more limited in the scope of the allusions. The Very Hungry Pregnant Lady is a spoof of that board book favorite, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. The spoof aspect can be a bit much sometimes by having the joke “over played” and done too many times. (Yes, I am looking at you Goodnight Moon spoofs). This time, however, the spoof is hilarious. And it would be the perfect baby shower gift (not so much for the child but for the mother herself). However, there is nothing inappropriate, so a child could […]
