Killer Amongst Us

October 27, 2018 by Jen K 2 Comments

Bingo Category (Round 2): Snubbed Given how many of my reads lately are books I picked up due to other Cannonballers, I could probably find a book for each bingo category that would also be Cannonballer.  Six Wakes is another one that can be added to that list.  I enjoyed narfna’s review but it wasn’t an immediate buy for me until it showed up as Kindle Deal of the Day – who can resist $1.99? You can’t go home again

May 28, 2018 by dAvid 1 Comment

I still remember watching E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in the theater as a kid. The nearest movie theater was an hour’s drive from our little town in the Deep Midwest, so we didn’t get to go more than a few times a year. I’d been begging my parents to take us to see E.T. for weeks when they finally surprised me for my 8th birthday. A Way Too Heavy and Analytical Take on A Light Sci-Fi Novel

March 8, 2018 by Jen K Leave a Comment

I am not sure what it is with me but I tend to take light sci-fi novels and view them in a much darker than intended way.  And sci-fi novels are intended to be dark are depressingly bleak (Three Body Problem trilogy, looking at you here!). While everyone else was enjoying the ride of Ready Player One, my response was: “they’ve basically destroyed the environment, life is miserable, and the novel’s focus is on winning a video game. I mean I get it as a […]
