My local bookstore is really great about making recommendations for books I may otherwise have never known about. (You may remember, this was how I discovered Andrew Smith’s Grasshopper Jungle.) So I had this huge brilliant review* for this book, which I stupidly wrote in the review space over on Goodreads, and upon being two sentences away from finishing it, my browser decided to to go non-responsive, crashed and deleted the whole thing. I read this book for two reasons: 1) Ashley (narfna) recommended it and 2) the main characters are obsessed with The X-Files, an obsession I, too, shared when I was their age.
