I loved Dairy Queen, but I started this, and when things got heavy, had to stop. I didn’t want bad things to happen. I’ll go back to it eventually, but I like DJ too much and just wasn’t in the mood to watch her struggle so. Glad to hear, despite the struggles, that it was still enjoyable.
I totally get that – I didn’t like seeing things get rough for DJ. But overall, she’s just so awesome that I was really glad I finished this book. And I really, highly recommend finding the audio – Natalie Moore’s narration is something else, she absolutely nails DJ (and the northern WI accent.)
