Allie Brosh can convey so much emotion in her drawings; they seem rudimentary at first glance, but just look at this:

This book is indeed quite heavy

It is quite heavy! I’m reading it in a few sittings, mostly for the reasons you describe above. I’m loving it though, and having been only familiar with some of her blog a lot (ha!) of the pieces are new to me.
