Book Exchange Delights!

December 18, 2015 by bonnie 5 Comments

I received an amazing package in the mail several days ago, but I let things like grading and procrastinating take up my energy. Today, I finally forced myself out of my vortex, and what you have is a selfie with some glorious, glorious books.

The awesome Malin gifted me with John Irving’s A Prayer for Owen Meany, Jenny Lawson’s Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, and Brent Week’s Night Angel Trilogy #1 The Way of Shadows. All three have been on my to-read list for some time, and Malin has read them all with highest of recommendations. I’m very, very excited to read them. And I’d say a nice variety, too–Irving is (obviously) literary fiction, which is my reading go-to. Lawson is memoir, and I’ve found what I’ve read of hers to be *hilarious* and real. My sister recommended the Night Angel trilogy to me, and so I’m excited to give it a try. Lots of winter holiday book time ahead!

Thanks, Malin! You are an awesome gifter!!!

I’ll second and third A Prayer for Owen Meany. It is the best. THE. BEST. Can’t wait for your review!

Malin has excellent taste and all three are a delight. It’s nice to see a book by Brent Weeks as he’s a bit lesser known on the fantasy front. If you love this series as much as I did, the Black Prism series (currently unfinished) would be a worthy addition to your TBR pile.

I was pretty sure you had gotten them by now (because according to Amazon they were delivered), but I was starting to worry. I stalked your TBR-list on Goodreads and looked for things that I really liked or loved. I figured the variety in books would be a nice thing. So glad you like them!
