November was a wretched, ugly month. This morning, I decided to ring in December on a high note, and I played Christmas music all.day.long. That helped. And then, I got home after a lovely post-work dinner with a good friend to a package laden with goodies from crystalclear:

She gave me (from left to right) an adorable Beanie Baby tiger (how did you know stuffed animals were a total weakness of mine???), with the note, “In case things get sad,” Octavia E. Butler’s Kindred, Penelope Lively’s Moon Tiger, and Siri Hustvedt’s What I Loved. These are all highly acclaimed works by women, and I intend to read more and more of these throughout the next four years. So, I guess you could say that this year’s gift haul theme for me was Pussy Grabs Back. Thanks so much, crystalclear!!!!
You’re welcome! I saw the title of Moon Tiger and thought, this needs a stuffed tiger to go with it! I couldn’t think of anything cute to go with any of the other titles lol
In my wanderings, I found Parable of the Sower by Olivia E. Butler on clearance for $4.48 on Barnes and Noble’s website. I know that was on your list too! (You might have to go through the clearance section to find it, just going to the book page didn’t work.) I saw it thought you should know!
Oooh, thank you. Will take note!
Well done crystalclear, that is so cute!
Exciting!
