Gayer than I was expecting and the cat dies

I didn’t know who Samantha Irby was prior to Goodreads suggesting We’re Never Meeting in Real Life but she appears to be a writer who has a funny, popular blog (bitchesgottaeat- great name). Life was not easy for Samantha growing up. Her mother had MS and died when Sam was a teenager; her father was largely absent and died shortly after her mother passed away. She also has Chron’s disease and IBS.

Right now I am sporadically trying to be vegan, because I love animals and being a good steward of the environment. LOL JK. I have inflammatory bowel disease and nothing is more inflammatory than meat and milk, but wow oh wow, I’ve never tried anything so difficult in my life and I was homeless before.

She is a full figured lesbian (although except for her wife she has only dated men) with a great sense of humor about the rough hand she was dealt as a child. Her essays are pretty funny and widely inappropriate although I could have done without her graphic descriptions of learning how to perform oral sex on a woman. This isn’t for everyone but there are more good to great stories than bad.
