Vive Gamache!!

 I’ve been waiting for months for this to be released, and was so excited when the latest Inspector Gamache novel arrived on my doorstep!!

I’ll try to not post too many spoilers, as I know there are other CBR’s working through the series.

Gamache has been named Chief Superintendent of the Sureté and has taken on the daunting task of bringing down a drug cartel who is smuggling across the Canadian-American border.

While this is happening, there is an unsettling murder that happens in Three Pines.

Aaaaand that’s about all I can say. :/

As with all the books in this series, the murder is intriguing and keeps you guessing… but the real joy is in the characters themselves- Penny is a master at making them come alive and forcing you to become invested in them.

At book #13, I’m not sure when the series will slow down and lose mileage- but it isn’t anytime soon. I recommend everyone starts with book #1 this fall and settles in for these  perfect cozy mysteries. And then we can all commiserate about how long we will be waiting for #14 :(
