So I never actually wrote a real review of this book the first time I read it. It was the end of the year, and I just half-assed something over on Goodreads, and didn’t even post anything at all on the CBR blog (it was my first Cannonball, I believe, CBR4). Punny Titles are the Best
I love a good pun and Lumberjanes continually delivers. The title of the fifth volume plays on band in the literal and “come together” uses. Because this is the Lumberjanes, the literal band is made of mer-people, and coming together is one of the best traits of these hard core lady types. This collection of comics opens with a flash back to the first day of summer camp as we see each girl being dropped off. These scenes give us a brief peak into their […]

Separated from her girls, Jen is injured and […]
Poor unfortunate retelling
Continuing the theme of “things that disappoint” … What was this hot mess? ♫ I admit that in the past I’ve been a nasty They weren’t kidding when they called me, well, a witch ♫ I am all about retellings but this was pretty weak. Ursula is ripe for the picking when it comes to delving into the psyche of a secondary character! She’s a fabulous drag queen octopus! How do you screw that up? How is she still a secondary character in her own story! Not […]
