If You Could Go Anywhere, Any When …

October 3, 2018 by Jen K 2 Comments

Bingo Square: Listicles I had actually seen this novel on at least one Book Riot list, and downloaded it a while back since it was part of Kindle Unlimited but it wasn’t going to be my original selection for Listicles.  I played with making it “And So It Begins” but read another book that fit that category first. A Kiss For Akaraka is actually a 4.5. This is due to the fact that the only real complaint I have is the name of the character is a little hard to pronounce (even with the father helping, it does not happen until the middle of the story).  However, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the illustrations of E.B. It is a fun and simple board book that I would have given to my nephews, cousins and other children I know as an anytime gift. The google-eyes are a […]

Wonderful, Lyrical, Practical Magic

October 1, 2018 by xoxoxoe Leave a Comment

I saw the movie Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman quite a few years ago. It’s one of those movies that I wanted to be better than it was — it seemed to have so much potential, but it just didn’t work, even with the wonderful Aidan Quinn as Bullock’s love interest. I have been in the mood lately, Halloween coming up I guess, to read some witch-related books, so even though I didn’t love the movie I had heard good things about […]
